Liverpool’s Alisson Becker returns – How the Reds could line-up against Fulham

Liverpool will travel to Fulham on Sunday hoping to claim all the available points on the road. They would aim for the positives so as to continue their pace-setting ambitions at the top of the Premier League.

Jürgen Klopp’s side went into the weekend second behind José Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference.

However, the League Champions had the splendour of resting their first eleven with a break in midweek as they played out a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Champions League clash against Danish side Midtjylland.

Mohamed Salah contentiously played the entire minutes in that game, prompting questions about Klopp’s comments following Liverpool fixture congestion.

But a majority of the Reds, other stars were given a well-deserved break.

Therefore, there will be a total reshuffling in the side that plays against Fulham at Craven Cottage while the duo of Fabinho and Trent Alexander-Arnold should retain their place in the Liverpool starting line-up.

Liverpool should welcome the return to action of first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker for this match after a slight hamstring injury. He’s back in training on Friday.

However, it is expected that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would be part of the travelling party to Fulham in London.

The utility Liverpool man is yet to feature for the Reds this term. The situation at the moment demands his involvement anytime soon but it’s uncertain if he would be ready this weekend.

Nobody else is coming back, I’m afraid’ Klopp reiterated on Friday. As the German suggested, it is not all a good news for the Reds, though Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas will both need to be monitored in the build-up to the match.

In addition, there is no prospect of Thiago Alcantara, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri featuring since the trio are all sidelined due to injuries.

There are long terms worries over Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez in the Liverpool’s central defence. The attack should see the trio of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane start together upfront.

Liverpool’s predicted line-up against Fulham in a 4-3-3 formation system.

Alisson Becker; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Fabinho, Andrew Robertson; Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum; Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino.
