PSG vs Man Utd: What Rio Ferdinand said about Axel Tuanzebe after 2-1 win

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has lauded defender, Axel Tuanzebe’s performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Ferdinand said Tuanzebe deserves to keep his place in the Man United squad after putting up an excellent display against PSG stars, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Tuanzebe was brought into the Man United starting XI in the absence of Harry Maguire, and Eric Bailly and the 22-year-old did well against the host in France.

Man United defeated PSG 2-1, thanks to two goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side all three points against the Ligue 1 champions.

Asked if Tuanzebe has made himself undroppable in Man United squad after a performance of such quality, Ferdinand told BT Sport: “Yes. Ole has just said it’s two of the best two strikers in the world. He snuffed out danger many times today.

“You have to reward performances like that. He’s had a hard time with injuries – the first game in 10 months – to come in and play like that, from in out of the cold, you deserve to be rewarded.

“But Ole is the man to make that decision.”
